Seventy years of Tessitura Pertile: the story of an Italian excellence
Tessitura Pertile turns seventy. A story of passion, commitment, and dedication.
In 1954, Marcello Pertile and his brothers launched a project that would transform the weaving industry. After the brothers chose to go their separate ways, leadership of the company passed to Marcello Pertile and his wife Giuseppina.
Family tradition is a competitive advantage for the company. Today, Myriam, Marisa, Giorgio, and Roberto Pertile, the founders' children, lead a well-established company distinguished by an entrepreneurial vision geared toward international markets.
Tessitura Pertile is the guardian of artisanal tradition, which, with an eye to the future, is committed to creating natural and elegant, people-friendly, textured and pleasant-to-the-touch products that reflect the perfection of an art passed down from generation to generation.
Artisanal expertise combines with industrial innovation to create cutting-edge, high-quality manufacturing techniques. Looking to the future while maintaining a strong connection to its roots is key to preserving the company's vitality. Constant research informs the evolutions that have led to the creation and production of innovative and functional fabrics.
Reaching 70 years represents not only a long history of excellence, but also marks a future perspective open to new horizons. Since its founding in March 1954, the company has made quality its hallmark. From carefully selected raw materials, such as long-staple Egyptian cotton, to other fine yarns, Pertile has established itself as a benchmark in the textile industry.
Entrepreneurial vision, projects and environmental sustainability
Thanks to dedication, hard work, and entrepreneurial vision, the weaving mill has earned a global reputation. From its initial connections with other Mediterranean countries in the 1960s to its overseas expansion in the following decade, the Made in Italy excellence of Pertile products has reached and been appreciated in the United States, China, and many other countries around the world. 2024 also marks 40 years since Pertile first participated in the Heimtextil Fair in Frankfurt. The prestigious event not only offers a showcase for the Pertile brothers' creations but also highlights their contribution to promoting Italian beauty and craftsmanship in the global textile design scene.
Numerous collections, projects, and products reflect attention to detail and excellence, offering products that combine quality, sustainability, and sophisticated aesthetics. From jacquard fabrics to the design and creation, in 2000, of the three-dimensional structure known as Boutis Jacquard, which ideally recalls Boutis de Provence, a cotton dress fabric, padded and hand-quilted in Italy for the Provençal courts in the Middle Ages. The creation of flame-retardant fabrics, materials such as nylon, and blended fibers are the result of a meticulous research process, constantly pushing the boundaries to offer increasingly advanced textile solutions.
The weaving mill's commitment to sustainability is reflected in its choice to use certified organic cotton, a quality material that demonstrates the company's commitment to respecting the environment and promoting responsible agricultural practices. For 18 years, it has held GOTS certification for organic cotton. This recognition, issued by the Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification, is considered the highest international standard for organic textile production. The low environmental impact of VITANOVA's organic cotton Tessitura Pertile's line of decorative fabrics, available by the meter, translates into products with the best technical characteristics and color fastness. The vast product range and underlying entrepreneurial vision are not only an expression of style, but also demonstrate a tangible commitment to a more sustainable textile future, where beauty blends with environmental responsibility.
